How to Utilize Keywords Tools to Improve App Marketing Performance (2)

During the process of promoting apps in App Stores or Google Play, keywords play a key role to increase apps' visibility.

In the last article How to Utilize Keywords Tools to Improve App Marketing Performance (1), we mentioned how to use Appranking to find and track keywords for apps. This article will further explore around these keywords and discuss how we can optimize them.

Keywords Optimization

In the previous article, I detailed how to use Appranking's features to set up some initial keywords and monitor them in real time.

However, as time goes by, the market is changing all the time and the keywords you initially set up may become less suitable. At this point, it is necessary to update and optimize the keywords in time.

  • According to keyword ranking history

On Appranking, you can track the top 5 apps for a certain keyword. Again using Twitter as an example, if we want to see if Twitter comes up when I search for the keyword "social media", we can go to Keywords History under ASO. After selecting the keyword you tracked, we will first give the search volume, the number of search results and top app for this keyword.

It is worth noting that:

1. the search volume is an indicator that tracks and shows the search index of keywords. A search volume ≥ 4,605 means the term has been searched at least once; keywords with a search volume < 6,500 have a low search index; keywords with a search volume in the 6,500-8,500 range have a medium search index; and keywords with a search volume > 8,500 have the highest search index.

2. the number of search results is the total number of apps that rank for each keyword.

3. top app is the app that shows up first when you search for the keyword.

Then, we will give the historical ranking of the current top 5 apps for reference.

In addition, we can give you a list of Top 10 apps under that keyword, so you can visually see the relevant information.

Based on the above information, you can know exactly how your app ranks for that keyword and make adjustments accordingly.

  • According to the keyword coverage status

In addition, you can also keep an eye on your app's keyword coverage status to guide your keyword optimization.

You can click into the Keywords Suggestion mentioned in the past article and it will show you the Keyword Coverage status. "Ranked" means your app can be searched by this keyword. "Out" means your app can not be searched by this keyword. If you find that you are not covering more keywords, then you need to think about the solution in two ways.

On the one hand, if these words are really important keywords and your app is no longer searchable through them, then you need to go ahead and make the appropriate efforts. But if these words actually don't quite fit your App's positioning anymore, then you can untrack them in Action and target those keywords worthy of attention again.

keywords coverage

In Appranking,Correlation is a search popularity index, ranked from 1 (poor) to 100 (best). It depends on factors like popularity, ranked keywords, and so on. Higher score keywords are likely to bring more organic traffic.

  • According to competitor analysis

In addition to the two methods mentioned above, you can also make optimization and adjustments to your keyword layout by looking at the keywords of your competitors.

In Competitor Analysis, you can see all the keywords of your chosen competitors, ranking keywords and their search volume.

And by observing the keyword ranking trend of the head applications in a certain field, you can also make a general judgment and speculate the valuable keywords at the moment.

App Store Optimization

App Store Optimization is the thing our team has been specializing in for a long time. Our ASO service is very mature, see ASO World for more details. And Appranking is also plugged into the power of our sister platform, allowing users to achieve the vast majority of the app promotion process directly on one platform.

Entering Keywords Optimization, you can quickly get optimization suggestions for title, subtitle, keywords, description and other multi-dimensional data.

Take Tinder as an example, after setting up the basic app store, country and device information (our platform usually automatically recognizes the default information you fill in other interfaces), you just need to enter the name of the app, and we will first automatically grab the current metadata of the app in the app store. Then click Start Analysis, and the right side of the screen will give you a direct analysis of this metadata, as well as a rough optimization plan. If further optimization is needed, you can contact our team to find expert support.

Conclusion

Appranking is a powerful data-driven platform where you can get almost all the data you want to know about your app. And we have different sections such as App Store Optimization, Apple Search Ads, and App Marketing Intelligence to provide a one-stop service for your app promotion. It's worth noting that a large part of our features are free to use, which can greatly improve the ROI of marketers in promoting your apps.
